Looking Back: Soromundi Performs Original Work “Terra Omnis”

Soromundi celebrated our 23rd season by commissioning an original work by noted composer and arranger Audrey Snyder.

Gina Graham, left, daughter of long-time members Lynne Graham and Linda Cipriano, contributes to the joyous dancing and drumming of Eugene-based Denbaya.

“Terra Omnis,” which translates to “the whole earth,” premiered May 19, 2012, at Eugene’s Hult Center for the Performing Arts. True to its name the work evoked sounds from around the globe: pulsating drum rhythms, and a swirling movement that evokes the rise and fall of the sea — complete with a few dolphin noises. Joining us on stage: the vibrant and talented Denbaya Drum and Dance troupe. What a world of fun that was! #soromundiretrospective
