Our 2025-2026 season is under way! Our season runs from September 2025 to May 2026, and we open our doors to interested singers every Tuesday in September. Please email membership@soromundi.org for information.
About Membership
Chorus membership is open to anyone over 18 who identifies as a woman. We welcome members of all orientations, races, ethnicities, abilities, economic statuses, and religions. We embrace a broad definition for self-identified women which includes lesbian, straight, bisexual, cisgender, transgender, and intersex women, individuals with non-binary gender identities, and gender expansive individuals who find home within women’s spaces. This can include gender non-conforming, agender, two-spirit, butch, femme, and many other identities. We intend this membership definition to be as inclusive as possible while honoring and reaffirming our history and identity as Soromundi Lesbian Chorus of Eugene.
Our rehearsal space is open a half hour before rehearsal starts, and often members get together after rehearsal.
Members can attend rehearsals either in person or via Zoom if they’re ill or traveling.
Musical Experience
Soromundi is a non-audition chorus, and members have varied musical ability. For example, some read music while others don’t. The music leadership strives to support all members regardless of musicianship.
We learn our songs using multiple methods — from sheet music to oral tradition — and you’ll discover which works best for you.
Monthly Dues
Basic membership dues are $288 per year, $32/month for 9 months, or $24/month for 12 months. This covers most membership expenses (e.g. copied music, retreat attendance, and rehearsal space). The only additional cost is the Soromundi T-shirt. Members must supply their own “concert black” attire (black pants/skirt, black shirt, black shoes) that we wear for most performances.
No one will be turned away for inability to pay.
